Vince Zampella, Dies in an LA Vehicle Accident
Vince Zampella, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in the state of California he was 55 years old.
His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.
The renowned game designer died after his car crashed and caught fire on a highway in LA on Sunday, US media outlets report.
"This is a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with his family and friends, his loved ones, and all those touched by his legacy," an official with Electronic Arts stated.
