The Streaming Giant Selects Perfect Star for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Season 3
The Secret Organization is set to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the real showdown isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has just been cast.
The streaming service revealed this week that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Mr. 2. This character can use their power to change into an perfect replica of any person they’ve made contact with with their right hand. Escola, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a version of that role reinterpreted as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag artist, in the live-action series, unlike the source material and anime.
Escola will work alongside several other recently announced actors who will portray Baroque Works to the screen, such as chief Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the well-known actor, an emerging star as another operative, and a familiar face, who also joins the lineup as the monarch of the fictional land.
Although Bon Clay is a key figure of the organization, the character will be introduced in One Piece the upcoming installment. With the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this signals a notable change in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal further changes to the plot development.
Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the role. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is set to return for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
