Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot including angels, demons, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.
Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of heroes who will split off from the main group to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look mismatched, but the events of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a individual motive to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the party reach locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to form the Explorers and Strategists tables.
Viewers can expect learning which characters will be assigned to which table in the season’s last Overture episode, streaming live on October 24.
